Trip to New York City for Christmas

We drove to New York City for Christmas. The primary goal was to take Sato to a famous Japanese restaraunt called Nobu in Lower Manhattan. Evidently it's frequented by celebrities, but that's not why we went. The food was outstanding and was well worth the trip. We got a nice hotel room on 5th Ave and walked around to see the sights. We went to Times Square, Rockafeller Center, NYC Public Library, met a couple of Sato's friends and did a few other things.

The Pizza Toy

Out of all of his birthday presents, this one was by far the most popular. I wouldn't have guessed it. Sato picked it out. She saw him playing with one like it at a friends house and figured he'd go for it.

Birthday Cake # 3

Alex must have asked us about 20 times "when were we going to eat the birthday cake and ice cream?" He's been to enough birthday parties now, he knows what's supposed to happen.

"The Executioner" Crashed and Burned

We took my model rockets to a nearby school and launched them again, but this time one of them didn't make it home in one piece.

Trip to Chicago

Sato, Alex, and I flew to Chicago to visit Sato's friends (Kaori, Anthony, and Eita). We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel down town. Kaori and Anthony had us over to their house for dinner and showed us around Chicago. We went to Millenium Park, the zoo, took a boat tour, and went to a couple of museums. We had a blast. Chicago is a great city to visit if you haven't been there.
